We are super happy to be featured in the latest edition of I Love the Seaside! The lovely Alexandra and Geert, creators of I Love the Seaside surf and travel guides, came by last week to drop off some copies of their beautiful new book all about Morocco.
The surfer couple, hailing originally from Holland, has spent many years road tripping the coastlines of Europe in search of waves, authentic places and connections with unique locals. Now they are back in their favourite spot with their two rescue dogs Bonzer and Jangle, promoting the new Morocco guide, meeting up with the many wonderful people featured in the book and of course catching some waves in the Magic Bay.
The idea to start writing the guides began after their friends (and friends of friends, friends of friends of friends...) kept asking Alex and Geert for recommendations for their next surf trip. It wasn’t long before they decided to share their passion for life on the road and their insider knowledge to a wider audience, and their first guide featuring South West Europe was born. The books have been living in the glove compartments of European cars ever since, the perfect companion for a surf road trip.
The guides have everything you need to know for your next surf trip, from spot guides and personal accommodation recommendations to local recipes, culture and outdoor activities for when the surf is flat. Each book is full of inspiring stories, beautiful photography, interviews with interesting locals and most importantly advice on where to surf, what to eat and who to meet!
So far they’ve covered the coastlines from Brittany to southern Spain, the icy waters of north-west Europe and the sun-drenched waves of Morocco. A UK guide is currently in the making, and they hope to make their next I Love the Seaside stop in California!
The team is also working on an I Love the Seaside app to go with the guides, so you can keep your surf spot favourites downloaded on your phone for your next adventure. You can keep up to date with all things seaside on their instagram @ilovetheseaside.
